Angela Dias, Kennesaw State University Graduate, Integrative Studies Major and Military Veteran

Angela Marie Dias is a mother, community activist, volunteer, a recent student at Kennesaw State University, and a disabled veteran who served and was honorably discharged from the active duty United States Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and Army Reserves from 1987-2004. During her time of service she deployed as a Combat Camera technician to Desert Shield/Desert Storm. She graduated from Kennesaw State University (KSU) with her Bachelor of Science degree in the Integrative Studies program, specializing in Sociology, Leadership and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in May, 2017. She has received her Leadership Certificate and her ADR certificate from Kennesaw State University also. She has recently become a registered neutral in the State of Georgia. During her time at KSU she worked to become an ArtReach® facilitator, which is an arts based therapeutic process workshop, and an Alternative to Violence Project workshop facilitator: a workshop that provides opportunities to learn about conflict, violence, non-violence, and conflict resolution. She serves as an ambassador for the WVSJ and FourBlock, two organizations that serve veterans in the process of transition and community networking. Her passion is helping others and having learning experiences that provide her with an opportunity to observe life’s situations from different perspectives. Her hope is to make lasting connections that help others succeed.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. ~Margaret Mead
